To achieve this on iOS/iPadOS, I use Cloudflare's Remote Browser Isolation to render untrusted sites in Cloudflare's cloud. This is a Windows feature that runs Edge in a virtual machine. To achieve this on Windows, I use Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG). That way an attacker needs to chain a browser exploit with a VM escape in order to compromise your device. The most secure way to browse is to execute code from websites in a virtual machine. Many people hold to the belief that you have to be interesting and individually targeted to be the victim of a browser exploit, but this is not alway the case. These are vulnerabilities that allow the websites you visit to run code outside of the browser process and take over your device.
